The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where they are the norm, but who still dreams of becoming a hero himself. He is eventually scouted by the world's greatest hero, All Might, who shares his Quirk with Izuku after recognizing his potential, and later helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for heroes in training.

The school is called U.A. High School, and it is known for having a high percentage of students who go on to become professional heroes. The students are divided into hero and general courses, with the hero course being further divided into teams of three. Each team is led by a professional hero, who serves as a mentor and trainer to the students.

The series follows Izuku and his classmates as they learn to control and use their Quirks, compete in class and team battles, and face off against villains. Along the way, they also learn about friendship, teamwork, and what it means to be a hero.

One of the main themes of the series is the concept of "One For All," which refers to the transfer of All Might's Quirk to Izuku. All Might's Quirk allows him to temporarily increase his strength, speed, and durability to superhuman levels, and he has passed it down to Izuku as his successor. All Might's Quirk is unique in that it can be passed down from one person to another, and each successive user can add their own power to it, making it stronger with each transfer.

Another major theme of the series is the relationship between heroes and villains. In the world of My Hero Academia, heroes and villains are not simply good and evil, but rather two sides of the same coin.
